Good trip…NOT!

Back where I left almost 4 days ago. No good skiing, no good results lots of traveling and feeling sick. Only good news is that my bag finally showed up! Haha. Well invested time and enery. But if you dont try, you’ll for sure never win. I guess that’s why its so hard to skip races too. I’m a racer. You think you can be fast untill its proved you’re not.
Not feeling great

Didnt feel very good yesterday and went straight to bed for 5 hours of sleep after the downhill run. Not feeling too good today either I have to spend the day in bed drinking warm tea and saving up energy for tomorrow. We have eurosport in the hotel, so i’ll be watching a lot of sports today. Just saw the first rum from the womens gs in Lienz.
Some birthday…

I was a little to optimistic about being on time from Oslo. We waited in the plane for 1hour20min before the runway was cleared. So i missed my connection in Munich by 5min and the next flight was leaving for Verona 10hours later… Thats not gonna work. I would be in Bormio in the midle of the night. And i would spend my whole birthday alone at the airport. The girls at the transfer senter were very helpful. They even brought me champagne since it was my birthday. They did all they could to get me on different flights. When the only solution was to fly to Paris and then to Verona, we decided to drive instead. So now I’m in a minibus on the way to Innsbruck, and then i will get new transportation from there to Verona. I need to get my car that is parked there with all my stuff in before i can drive back up to Bormio. Oh, almost forgot; my baggage got lost in the mess. Some birthday… But thanks for all the happy birthday wishes. That is nice.
Travles trough snow

Snow chaos when I left Italy the 23rd. Been snowing heavy in Oslo these two days. Leaving at 6 in the morning the roads haven’t been cleared. Almost didn’t get here. But Gardermoen is one sweet airport and they’re well prepared. Now I’m on the plane and I dont think we’ll even be delayed.
In the final, but no money…

I made it to the finals. Richard won there and is going home 100000euro richer. I’m happy with my skiing. Got some runs on ice. I need that! Now we’re on our way to the Placebo concert.
Alta Badia is tough!

1min20sek x2 gs on ice in Alta Badia is a lot of work. Me and Kjetil are both tired and laying in bed with our legs high. The hill was very icy. Impressive skiing by the italians. Second run i felt ok untill i hit a rock in the last section. Cuche did the same in the first run. My first slalom of the season tomorrow. Wish me luck, i will need it.
New day tomorrow

Not the greatest day today. The downhill races in val gardena are often influenced by the weather. A little difference in the wind makes big changes in the results. But its an outdoor sports, so that happens. Tomorrow is a new day. Mario Chippolini was at the bib draw for the gs here in Alta Badia. I’m running nr 6.
Pricegiving

Hanging out waiting for pricegiving. Getting some warm drinks chatting with janka and bode. Good times! If you ski well there are a lot of these during a winter.
Arrived in Zurich

After a two hour delay at Washington travels went very smooth. Watched a movie on the plane and slept the rest of the way. Perfect. One comment about the movie. G Piven is awesome in Entourage, but he cant save a movie alone. Caos at the airport in zurich, we have tons of luggage, but seems like everything arrived.
This is great, but doesn’t feel right

This weekend there are world cup races in Levi Finland. Enjoying breakfast in 25′ on South Beach feels very far away from world cup skiing. Not that I’m not enjoying it. It’s fantatic here, but it’s wierd. I dont think I’ve ever been this far away from a world cup race.. Checked the results from the girls race online. Very happy to see Mona and Nina Løseth’s performance! And it looks like the overall favorites will be the same two for this year. My leg feels pretty good, so I think I’m ready to fly up to Canada and do some skiing again by the end of next week. Aksel
