Tough life
Getting some sun on our terrace in Saas Fee. Big smiles today. Not only because of the beautiful weather, but we also got great snow on the glacier. Was at the lift 6.40 and waited for almost an whole hour before it opened so we could get on the first train to get up.
New Acer computer
From today on i’ll be doing the work on the website om this thing. 1.9kg light and and more 9 hours of battery life. Perfect for those long flights.
Wedding
Flew back to Oslo to attend my friend Kristian and his girlfriend(now wife) Linn’s wedding. Now the work at the church is done and we’re off to the party. Good job Kristian!
shopping in Bormio
The rest of the team went home today. But the conditiones were so good today i just had to stay longer and test some more skies. I have my own car, there was room at the hotel and the plane ticket could be changed. And with one of my coaches living right by and a very nice ski tech who didnt mind staying a little longer it was a done deal. So i went down to Bormio to get some supplies and that’s when i met this guy. He’s a ski fanatic and the speaker at the world cups in Bormio. It took him 20 years to grow that thing. Legendary!
New Dainese gear
Marco from Dainese came up to Stelvio today with some prototypes of a new full carbon/kevlar helmet and some new goggles and lenses. Always fun with new stuff, specially when it’s good. Skiing hasnt been great the last days, with yesterday cancelled and also today a little to foggy. And for those of you still waiting for the spandex photos, i’m sorry to let you down. And for the record, i do have five toes. Must have been a funny angle…haha.
Getting a massage
This is Robban, one of our physios. Funniest guy ever. Look at the guy. How can you not be happy when you’re around this guy!? So getting a message is almost just as much a mental thing and a good conversation. We havent been skiing that much the last two days. Today was ok, but yesterday was not a good day. I was right about the weather moving in on the last post. Skiing slalom tomorrow. Testing out some new skis and practising those short turns. I need it. My slalom was far off last season. Aksel
At Stelvio
We have had two great days of skiing at Stelvio. Its warm in the day, but it freezes during the night so we ski on nice hard snow in the morning. Breakfast at 5.30 and on the lift 6.15 to take advantage of the hard snow. After skiing we do some workout as you can see in the photo. But since we’re staying at over 3000m you cant do to much and its important to save energy for skiing. Sleeping is also wierd at this altitude. You wake up often during the night and dream like crazy. There is some weather coming in, as you can see in the photo, but we’re hoping for another great day tomorrow. Aksel
