Freezing cold, but fast!
-34c didtn stop me this morning. Laid down the fastest time at training in Lake Louise. First official downhill performance in HEAD. I wanted to show that these things are fast!
Empty office
Welcome to the Norwegian ski federation. Or should I say Norwegian crosscountry federation… This picture is taken today at 1300 at the skifederations office here in Oslo. Empty! Three people here. One from skicross and two from alpine. There is a national crosscountry event in Norway ths weekend. So the crosscountry people is out of the office. Pretty much everyone…
Looooong day
After packing, changing to wintertires, an event with the vitamin bears and joining swix at a sports show it was time to hit the road. A 6 hour drive trough norwegian and swedish forests to get to funesdalen for training. I just got here and its almost 2am. Gotta stay alert driving. No cars this late, but plenty of animals. I had a big elk, four deers and a fox all crossing the road in front of me. But good lights and goo

That’s where i wanna be
Out for a little shopping and these are the first two t-shirts I see. They’re laying next to eachother with the names of the next two places i’m skiing. Funny! Makes me wish i was there right now though. I feel like the winter and season has started and Solden made me wanna ski and race more.
Change of plans
Race cancelled yesterday and now training for the next three days is also cancelled. It seems that winter is officially here, and its all good! Not only is there a blizzard in the alps, but i skied fast yesterday. Looks like its gonna be a snowy and fast winter! I also hear that the snowguns are running in sweden and norway, so we are going to hang back a couple days and see where we can get the best training. And if anyone is up for some powder skiing they should hit Tirol.
Meeting up with the crew
At bib draw in Solden. Its cool to meet the crew again. Like the swiss canons Cuche and Janka. Havent seen them since last year. Carlo was the best skier in the world last year, so he is the man we are gonna hunt this year for the overall. The ghost in the corner is Kjetil. The camera wouldnt capture him, but i see the dude everyday so that is ok…
Check out my new helmet!
Fresh from the paint shop. A brand new Dainese full carbon helmet with a shining Red Bull design. I’ve extended my cooperation with Red Bull and now we’ve also done the full on Red Bull paint job. Excited to be rocking the helmet this winter! It’s been great working with Red Bull on this project. And thanks to the skifederation and our other sponsors it’s been a good process all alonge. Watch out for the “new Red Bull” this weekend at the world-cup opening in Solden Austria.
A full rack of ribs
Since it was Lindsey Vonn’s birthday yesterday, they invited us to have ribs with them at Hexenkessel in Pitztal. Lots of ribs! Good food, fun company and all over good times. We sang her birthday songs in Norwegian too. But early in bed, cause today was another awesome day of skiing up at the glacier. The training has been great this last week. Hoping it will pay off…
