Lofoten
Travelled to famous Lofoten on the coast of Norway to meet some people and check out some of the amazing nature up here. Not the best weather today, but it’s still beautiful. If you dont know much avout this place, google it for pictures! The last leg of the travels was in a small plane with 6 people. Small airport, not bigger than a gas station. The best way to fly! No lines, no need to show up two hours before takeoff and very friendly people.
Milano
A light mix of sight seeing and a little workout in Milano this morning. Went for an hour run around down town Milano and checked out some of the sights. Got some funny looks running around between business men in suits on their way to the office. Cool town and people dont seem too sad about getting knocked out of the world-cup.
Fiorentina
In Milano having an amazing meal. Italian food rocks. Ever had a fiorentina? It’s a big t-bone that melts in you mouth. Good stuff, but oh so big… Did i finish the whole thing..? I’m sad to say i didn’t. But i had mozerella salad and a seafood pasta before this thing arrived, so it was mission impossible,..
Red Bull “dødsing”
Dødsing would be deathing in english. Watching the norwegian championships. Rules are keep straight as long as you can, and then crowl together last moment before you hit the water. There is classic and there is freestyle with flips and stuff. Style is everything!
Sailing lesson
If your going sailing with an old ship you need to suit up! Went out with famous Chritian Radich. An awesome beautiful looking old ship with lots of history. Some friends had white marine uniforms that looked sick. I was able to get and my hands on a hat before we even borded the ship, and as the night went on I slowly gathered the while uniform. Fun stuff! Sailing to Aker Brygge downtown Oslo we looked like we owned the place. Kinda got the feeling that a proud officer or something must get when his beautiful ship comes home after winning a big battle.. Hehe. Didn’t feel that cool though, when i walked all alone trough the streets downtown later that night in my all white uniform. Was hiding behind dark sunglasses long after sunset…
Running lesson
Running inside with a tube in your mouth is not something you wanna do when there’s beautiful weather outside is NOT something you wanna do… It’s a test for testing your max O2. Hard work!
Biking lessons
Biking the hills and woods around Oslo. Haven’t done that for some time, it’s beautiful. Did learn something though. Lesson nr 1; All huts in the woods that serve food closed on mondays. Lesson nr 2; ski slopes that are flat in the winter, are NOT flat in the summer. Lesson nr 3; because of lesson nr 1 and 2 you should always bring food or some kind of energy on your bike trip.
Painting Pella’s house
Remember my coach Pella who died in that tragic bike accident last spring. He was the best! And today a bunch of us helped out his family paint the house. So much faster with a big crew. Next to me is 3x X-games winner Andreas Ygre Wiig, a bunch of icehockey players have helped out, people that work at the olympic center in Oslo, including the CEO, and just missed the photo 2x olympic gold winner javalin Andreas Thorkildsen. Good people, a good day for painting and we got the work done
