Chamonix bib draw

Every worldcup event we are at the racers in first group have to show up for public bib draw. And when they put on a good show like here in Chamonix, its a cool thing to be a part of. I’ll be running nr 16 tomorrow.

Jumping the road

The downhill track in Chamonix is the only course where you have to jump a road. No problem as long as there are no cars coming.

The king of Kitzbuhel

Earlier this week I took this pic as a joke. To see how last years winner Didier Cuche gets ready for this crazy downhill. Today he made all of us look bad, again.. Didier Cuche is the king of Kitzbuhel! How he skis is a lesson in perfect downhill skiing. I could keep up with him for about half the course. But by doing so i take more risk then him, and then i do misstakes that cost time. Congrats Didier. Awesome skiing once again.

Downhill time

Good super-g race yesterday. Now its downhill time. Looks like its gonna be a nice and sunny day. Lets see what the Streif looks like today. Fingers crosses for safty and fast skiing!

Downhill training cancelled

Rain and snowfall in Kitzbuhel today. So he downhill training got cancelled. So we are at the gym instead. So are the Swiss guys. Spying on last years winner Didier Cuche to see how he’s getting ready for the race. So far it looks like its all in thr biceps..

Leaving Wengen

On the train getting down from Wengen. Too early though. No 2nd run in the slalom. Looks like i had one good slalom run in me here in Wengen and I timed it perfectly for the super combined. All in all i guess it was an ok weekend. But aiming for better things in Kitzbuhel. Before Kitz i’m gonna drop by Hangar7 in Salzburg to do a talkshow on Monday night.

Alright!!!

This morning i still had a fever, now i have a big Adelboden cow bell. Thats what you get for winning her. For some reason im upside down. Or am i? I don know. Must still not be 100% after that fever.

Adelboden is crazy!

Not sure if you can see, but there is probably 10000 or 15000 people watching the bib draw. Gonna be a show tomorrow, and im gonna open with #1

Adelboden

Been fighting a fever the last two days, but now its time to be 100% and race ready. At an autograph signing with Cuche for Head now. Lots of people! Adelboden has one of the best crowds on the tour. Maybe the biggest Giant Slalom of the season. Bib draw later tonight usually is a big party.

Ouch!

A little crash at giant slalom training left a big mark. We’re having a few days of training in Kirchberg Tirol. Right next to famous Kitzbuhel. Im not doing Zagreb tomorrow, but Lars, Kjetil, Leif and Espen are, so fingers crossed for them. Me and Truls will drive to Adelboden tomorrow. Getting ready for one of the biggest GS classics of the winter. Always big crowds and exciting races.
