No downhill on a perfect day

Not racing downhill when the weather is like this and the snow on the hill is perfect… That feels very strange. But there was one spot on the hill that looked very scetchy. A piece of terrain that could send racers flying straight in the nets, if not over and into the woods. Always hard to make a good call when everything else is so perfect.
That’s not high octane

If you are a race car and a fine tuned machinery, then you need race fuel. Not sure if the Slovenians are gonna fire on all pistons here in Beaver Creek. This is their dinner at Denver International
Skiers and travelers

This is what the world cup tour is all about. Traveling around the world. Right now we’re hanging out at the airport in Calgary hoping our flight want be any more delayed than the 45min they’ve already announced. Norwegian, Swedish and Finnish crew. First training run in Beaver Creek is already tomorrow, so this flight better not be too late.
Oh yeeeaaahhhhh!

Great feeling to be back on top of the podium in super-g. Cuche looking very strong, but I got one in there today. And in the true spirit of the worldcup, the victory is celebrated by packing up my stuff and leaving for the next event. Beaver Creek it is! Will for sure see some of the guys at the airport hotel in Calagary for a toast at the bar.
Fabian from Switzerland wins the HEAD skis! Congrats!!

Looks like Fabian is a real Swiss ski fan. He had Cuche and Feuz as 1st and 2nd. Congrats Fabian on winning the skis. We will get in touch with you to get you shipping address, and we expect to get a photo with you and the HEAD skis later this winter. Congrats!!
Not great

Not sure where I ended up, but think it’s around where I started. #14. Not very happy with that. Cool to see Kjetil in 11th place. Well done! Today is one of those days anything could happen. But the king from last year was still te king this year. Didier Cuche. But you gotta follow the race till the end. Cause conditions are a big factor in Lake Louise and if they change, so could also the podium. So everyone looks at the tv till the last guy is done. Hannes Reuchelt was very fast with a late start and almost won it. He skied great. A guy to look out for tomorrow as well.
Keep the faith

This blog post is for all you on Europe that are starting to loose faith in winter. Here’s some proof it is still happening on this planet. Lots of snow in Lake Louise Canada
