Sosial time

Enjoying a taco dinner with my brother Simen and Andreas. After a few days in Oslo checking out my knee i’m ready to hit the alps again. Its been a good couple of days. Relaxing, going to the movies, working out and checking out the nordic ski world champs.
Winter in Norway

The last races in Europa had spring temps. Extreme last week in Garmisch with close to summer temp. So coming back to Norway was coming back in winter. -15 was colder then i was prepared for. Didnt bring any thick jackets. Then its good to have my sponsor Phenix’s office just aeound the corner. A quick stop there checking out next years collection and i’m ready for winter again. Spoiled? Probably… But i think that’s ok as long as you know it. Maybe… Thanks Phenix for awesome service and I’ll be facing -15 in style!
Freeskiing on the racehill

The day before a race we often get to free ski one or two runs on the racehill. So you can feel the snow and learn the tarain. All racers line up and when FIS give the go it gets crazy. You try to get some distance to other racers, but you cant wait too long, cause then someone else will dive in a head of you. And to get some feel for it you gotta get some speed. Truls thinks its the craziest thing we do all year. Sometimes i think he’s right. A good move is to never try racing Ted or Bode on these things. Ted’s first down 9 out of 10 times.
Getting awesome training

Firts we skied 6 runs on the downhill track in Chamonix on Monday. Today we’re doing GS and super-g in Reiteralm. Another beautiful day and we’re lucky with the conditions. Training on a real worldcup prepared track is almost impossible to get. That training in Chamonix was great. On this world cup program its almost impossible to have time for any kind if training. So often you have to choose between a day off or training. We’ve trained lately, and that means more work for our manuel therapist Trond. He’s on the hill during the day and working on tight muscles and joints after skiing, to get us ready for the next day.
